Other than the Open Division, these were just regular guys and girls out at the SA Longboard Surfing Champs. This pic is of the Under 15 girls waiting for their heat to start as another wave came through. The day delivered solid 6-8 foot conditions, with a few 10 footers coming over the horizon every hour. Timing the jump off the rocks in front was critical, or you wouldn't get to the back. From kids in junior school, to folk on pension, everybody went for it. Some lost and broke boards, washed into the bay with no jetski backup, and collected another board thrown off the pier for them. Some overcame their fear of being buzzed by a shark the night before and paddled back out. A fantastic final day down at Victoria Bay. Well done to Justin Bing - Mens Open Winner, and Bianca Buitendag, Ladies Open Winner.
