Joined a great bunch of people in the centre of Cape Town last night. The longest night of winter and hundreds of people needed to find a place to sleep, for themselves, their wife or their pets. I met up with the Mustadafin Foundation, Pick n Pay and Kfm at the Grand Parade to hand out a hot meal, blankets and coffee. With no announcement, the line grew as word spread - probably 700 people? Stoked to be part of it and meet such a wide variety of tough individuals who guts it out every night with a positive attitude and strong faith that it will be better tomorrow. Laughing, dancing, sharing stories and sitting around on the Parade bricks and gaining a small insight into their side of life. We've got so many positive people, from energetic kids kicking balls between the shacks, teenagers getting great matrics and adults with great attitudes that just need a gap, a sliver of an opportunity to change their lives forever. Good people - on both sides of last nights table.
