John Pfaff

15 Years ago, John called me to offer his assistance - I'd been doing the surf report for a while, but, being in Cape Town, was clueless on the local conditions in the Southern Cape. He was always up at first light, and for every day since then, we'd chat at 7a.m. - surf was but one of the subjects we'd cover in those few minutes. Love for the sea, photography, travel, surf, mountains and his family - all rolled into a delicious mix of life - and commiserating with each other having to be up at that time after a big night...John passed away this weekend - I'm going to miss the stoke he had for life and the early chats we shared to get us going each day.
