OK - so what actually happened was... A few Capeys went up to the Scottburgh surf festival for a contest (read jol..). Surf got up,howling onshore and impossible to paddle out to the backline. We needed to be towed out on sleds behind the wetbikes - the guys were brilliant. Wipeouts, broken boards and some seriously lucky people who could have got hurt, was it not for Mother nature giving them a break. Prize giving comes and our son, Justin, wins a surfboard for a great display of progressive Longboard surfing. Being in the toilet at the time - I claimed it on his behalf - so it wasn't actually me who won it...It'd be cool if you don't mention it to him...but I promise we'll share it. Hugh Tomson shaped it - the designs' called a Squirrel, but we gotta give the squirrel a name - any ideas???
And well done to Jason Ribbink for winning the Longboard and SUP Division,Lisa Smith in the Ladies and Pete Peterson getting Cape Town a first place in the Kiteboarding - I'll scratch out some photos.
